Choosing the American Express Green Card is equivalent to choosing the medium hot sauce for chicken wings. This credit card does not require the cardholder to dish out serious money, but it isn't the cheapest card available to potential American Express members.

Upgraded Points

The Original Points Card. This card can provide a great way to accumulate points, especially if you book airfare, hotel stays, and more via the American Express Travel site.

Ask Mr. Credit Card

If all you are looking for is a starter Amex card, then this would not be a bad choice at all.
